Cut" meet. This is a YMCA ONLY
meet.
Remember....you need three (3) to swim at Y
Districts, States, and Nationals.

Friday, February 19 with a 5pm warm-up

Central
Penn Aquatic League All-Star Championships
at Cumberland Valley High School, hosted by
CVAC. The Top 16 swimmers in each
individual event (Top 8 relays) from the
combined 5 divisions advance to the All-Star
Meet.
WSY swimmers can check to see if they have
advanced the All Star meet here.
The format is the same as Divisionals 8 and
9-10 age groups need to be at CV High School
by 7:20am for a 7:30am warm-up and a 9am
start (11:30am ending time). The 11 and over
age groups need to be at the CV Natatorium
by 11:40am for a 11:55am warm-up for a 2:30
pm meet start.

(10/2/09) Two
WSY Swimmers have been named to the
2008-2009 Scholastic All-American Team by USA
Swimming.
Making the prestigious list were Adrienne
Phillips (now at Towson University),
Claire Loht. Nationwide, there were 1500
swimmers who were named to the team for combining
athletic and academic success. Swimmers have to
achieve at least a 3.50 GPA as a high school
sophomore, junior or senior AND must achieve a
Junior National Bonus Time Standard, or swim in a
selected disability championship meet or the Open
Water National Championships during the qualifying

regulations that go in effect October 1, 2009.

list of "Suits" which will be allowable in meets.
Assume that normal "polyester/practice suits" are
acceptable to wear in every meet. |

New to Open
Water swimming,
Ryan Turner won
the
Governors Island Swim
in New York City yesterday. His final
time was 39:19. Ryan was able to race
against swimmers from not only the United
States, but
swimmers from around the world.
Over the last half mile, Ryan battled with
Andres Olvik, from Estonia, who
represented his country at the 2008 Beijing
Olympic games. The
challenging 2-mile course around the
birthplace of New York City, had great views
of Lower Manhattan,
Jersey
City, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and,
Governors Island. Congratulations to
Ryan on his first Open Water swim.

Myers Beach, Florida. WSY swimmer
